Why www.likeacarp.com ?
In November I attended the 2002 California Comedy Conference. It was rewarding on many levels. I met several very talented comics, made some friends and learned a lot about the business of funny. One interesting thing happened at breakfast the last morning of the conference. A comic told me he was going to use my 'like a carp' joke. Honestly, I didn't know what to do with that. I can't stop him, and I suppose stealing or as he said 'using' another comic's material is a form of flattery.
Anyway, I came home energized and ready to do more comedy and let you know how things went in California. A web site seemed like a logical way to accomplish those goals. Then came time to name the domain.
Well, that other comic may be like a carp on the road, but my carp is on the 'net' for all to see. I don't know if anyone else has done a joke, though extremely subtle, with domain names before this. But when you go to www.dawnholley.com, you will see it change to www.likeacarp.com. A virtual punchline? I enjoy it.
