Cafe Comedy will present
Laughing for Life Saturday, June 5, a special benefit show
to help the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life fundraising
campaign.
Cafe Comedy will stage a
PG-13 version of its popular mix of stand-up and improv at the
Little Theater Off Broadway (LTOB), 3981 Broadway, in Grove City's
Town Center.
Sponsored by LTOB and
Nora's Coffee Corner, the 7 p.m. show will include door prizes
and parody songs by Dan Orr of QFM 96, whose songs are heard on
the nationally syndicated Dr. Demento Show, along with stand-up
by Rhonda Carling-Rogers, Yvette Weems, Dawn Holley and Rebecca
Krefting and improv by Holley, Carling-Rogers and guests. In
addition, guitarist Jeff Reed will perform original music.
"This will be a
joyful, life-affirming show for a good cause, featuring a group of
comics who are among Cafe Comedy's favorite performers and special
guest Dan Orr," said Holley, Cafe Comedy founder and producer.
The $12 tickets can be
purchased at Nora's Coffee Corner, LTOB and from Relay for Life
volunteers. In the event of a sellout a second show at 9 p.m. will
be added.
Relay for Life in Grove
City takes place at Grove City High School June 11-12.
Cafe Comedy also will
present its regular monthly shows June 10-12 at Nora's Coffee
Corner.

"Lighting candles reaffirmed my
commitment to this benefit," said Laughing for Life producer
Dawn Holley. "At the Relay for Life kick-off ceremony,
everyone was asked to light a candle to honor people we know
with cancer. As I lit candle after candle, I was struck by
how much cancer, in all its varieties, has attacked so many
people in my life, from my parents, in-laws and sister, to so many
other family members and friends, most of whom are survivors.
We're here to raise money and hope through laughter. As they say,
laughter's the best medicine."
"Yvette, Rhonda and Rebecca have
performed numerous times at
Cafe' Comedy, to the delight of our audiences.
With Dan Orr joining the line-up, this guarantees to be
a very
special show."
